Life in the City

Chapter 26: Planning a Museum Visit

It is Friday afternoon.
The sun is soft.
School ends at three o’clock.

I see her near the gate.
I say,
“Do you want to go to the museum on Saturday?”

She smiles,
“Yes, I like museums.
What time?”

I think,
“Ten o’clock in the morning?”
She nods.
“Good. Meet me at the bus stop.”

I look at my notebook.
I write:
“Saturday – Museum – 10:00 am – Bus stop.”

The next day,
I wake up early.
The sun is bright.
I put on a blue shirt and black shoes.

We meet at the bus stop.
The bus comes.
We sit together.
The city moves fast outside.
I point, “Look, the tall building!”
She laughs, “Yes, it is big.”

At the museum, we buy tickets.
We see paintings, old books, and statues.
I say, “I like this painting.”
She says, “I like the statue.
It is very old.”

We take pictures.
We walk slowly.
We talk about colors, shapes, and history.
The day is warm.
The museum is quiet.
Our hearts are happy.

After the visit,
we buy ice cream.
We sit in the park.
I say, “I am glad we came today.”
She smiles, “Me too.
It is a good plan.”
