Life in the City

Chapter 27: Walking Around the City

After the museum,
we walk in the city.
The sun is warm.
People go home from work.
Cars move fast.
Bicycles ride on the street.

We see a small shop.
She says, “Let’s buy some drinks.”
We go inside.
There are bottles of juice and water.
I pick orange juice.
She picks apple juice.
We pay at the counter.
The cashier smiles, “Thank you.”
We smile back.

We walk to the park.
We sit on a bench.
I drink my juice.
She eats a small sandwich.
We watch children play.
We see a man walking his dog.
A woman rides a bicycle.
The city is alive.

We talk about our day.
I say, “I like the museum.”
She says, “I like the park too.
It is peaceful.”

Then we decide to go home.
We take the bus.
I hold her bag.
We find seats together.
The bus moves slowly.
We see tall buildings, small shops, and trees.

At home, I feel happy.
The day was long, but good.
I think, The city is big.
But it is also full of small, nice moments.
