Life in the City

Chapter 30: Trying New Sports

It is Saturday morning.
The sun is bright.
The air is cool.

I meet her at the park.
She says, “Do you want to try something new today?”
I nod.
“Yes! What do you want to do?”

She smiles.
“Let’s play badminton.”

We go to the court.
There is a net and rackets.
The shuttlecock is white.

I hold the racket.
She holds hers.
We hit the shuttlecock back and forth.
It flies fast.
Sometimes I miss.
She laughs softly.

After some time,
we feel tired.
I wipe my face.
She says, “You are good!”
I smile.
I am happy she likes it.

Then we try roller skating.
I wear red skates.
She wears blue skates.
The ground is smooth.
We hold hands for balance.
We glide slowly.
We fall once.
We laugh.

The park is full of people.
Children run, dogs play, birds fly.
We watch them and rest.
I feel happy.
I think, Sports are fun.
New experiences are good.
I like spending time with her.

We go home.
Our feet are tired.
But our hearts are full of joy.
