Life in the City

Chapter 8: A New Morning

The alarm rings at six o’clock.
I open my eyes.
The room is full of soft light.
I stretch my arms and smile.
Today feels different.

I stand at the window.
The street below is already busy.
People walk fast.
Cars and motorbikes pass.
But I do not feel small.
I feel strong.
The noise of the city sounds like music.
It is the sound of life.

I brush my teeth and wash my face.
The cold water wakes me up.
I eat bread and drink milk.
The taste is simple, but today it feels good.
Every small thing feels new.

I think about yesterday.
I think about the rice fields in the sun.
Slow growth.
Strong roots.
Time and patience.
I tell myself, “I am like that rice. I can grow.”

When I take my bag, I feel light.
When I say goodbye to my mother, I feel safe.
She smiles at me.
Her smile gives me energy.

I walk to the bus stop.
The air is cool.
The sky is clear.
Children laugh around me.
I laugh too.

The bus comes.
I step on with confidence.
I find my seat.
I look out of the window.
The day is waiting for me.
And I am ready.
